Acceptable Use Policy

The short version

Upload artwork for your binders. Don't upload sexual content, graphic violence, or anything illegal. Don't upload work that isn't yours to use. Everything you upload is checked automatically before it's saved.

What you may not upload

You may not upload, store, or display any image that:

• Is sexual content, including nudity, sexual acts, or sexually explicit artwork.
• Sexualises a minor in any way, whether photographic, drawn, rendered, or generated. There is no artistic, stylistic, or fictional exception to this.
• Depicts graphic violence or gore — mutilation, realistic injury, or imagery whose purpose is to shock. Ordinary trading-card battle artwork is fine; this is not aimed at it.
• Promotes or depicts self-harm or suicide.
• Is otherwise illegal to possess or distribute.
• Attacks or degrades people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation, or promotes a violent or hateful organisation.
• Isn't yours to use — see Other people's work below.
• Contains someone else's private information, or an identifiable person who hasn't agreed to appear.
• Contains malware, or is crafted to attack or interfere with Binderverse or anyone using it.

How uploads are checked

Every image you upload is screened automatically before it is saved. We send a small copy to a third-party content-classification service, which scores it for the categories above. Images that fail are rejected — no copy is kept, and nothing is added to your binder.

Automated screening is not perfect in either direction. It can occasionally reject something harmless, and it can miss something it should have caught. It doesn't replace this policy: you are responsible for what you upload whether or not the screening catches it, and we may remove content or suspend an account at any point afterwards.

Screening is done by OpenAI's moderation service. We send the image only; we don't send your name, email, or binder.

Other people's work

Trading cards are full of art made by working illustrators. Uploading a piece of official card art, or an artist's illustration, because it looks good across a page is not something this policy permits — even with a credit attached.

By uploading an image you confirm that you own it, or that you have permission to use it in this way. The artist-credit field is there to give credit where it is due; filling it in does not create permission that wasn't there.

Where uploaded art appears

Uploaded artwork is currently private to you. It shows in your own binders and nowhere else — it does not appear on public share links, and there is no setting that makes it appear on one. If that ever changes, we'll tell you before it does.

What happens if you break this policy

• The upload is blocked. Screening rejects the image and nothing is saved.
• Content already saved may be removed without notice.
• Your account may be suspended or terminated, depending on what happened and whether it has happened before. Serious violations don't need a second chance to become a termination.
• Illegal material is reported to the authorities where the law requires it.

Child sexual abuse material

This is the one category with no judgement call attached to it. If we find child sexual abuse material, we remove it, terminate the account, preserve what the law requires us to preserve, and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Federal law requires that report and requires that we not notify the account holder that it has been made.

Reporting something

Email report@binderverse.app with a link and a short description. For copyright specifically, use the process in our DMCA policy instead — it needs particular information to be effective.

Changes

We may update this policy. When we do, the date at the top changes and we'll ask you to accept the new version the next time you upload something. Continuing to use Binderverse after a change means you accept it.

This policy is part of the Terms of Service, and words defined there have the same meaning here.
